 Youth Group

The SSBC Teen Group are a lively group of teens that meet every Wednesday at 7:00 pm to discuss topics that are on our minds and to open the Bible and to study its contents. We are currently studying through a discipleship series with topics such as salvation, baptism, the Holy Spirit, prayer, etc. In the coming weeks and months, we will be moving our focus onto God's will and what it is for our lives. Each teen will receive a booklet, which will serve as a lesson book as well as a devotional book. It gives the teen the tools they need to have a good prayer and Bible study life. I personally am looking forward to starting that series!

Each month we try to have an activity in which we can concentrate on just having fun and having good clean fellowship. (as you can see in the pictures) I believe that fellowship with other Christian teens is vital to the success of our teens both spiritually and socially. It builds friendships with other teens that will keep them out of peer pressure situations. Spiritually, it sets the teen up to a standard that church and church activities are important, not only because it is an ordinance of God, but also because that is where my friends are. Teens are encouraged to bring friends to class and activities and snacks are also an important part of the fellowship.

My prayer is that Hannah Steeves, and myself, Adam Steeves, along with others, can provide the leadership needed to instruct, to teach, to encourage, and to inspire these teens to be the best that they can be. After all, they are the next generation of our church. I want to encourage each parent to make sure that their teen is in church every time the doors are open and each time the teen group meets. In Proverbs 22:6, the Bible says, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." I firmly believe that to obey this verse, church should be the only priority. Not one of the priorities!
